Saturday 20th June at Strand Park from 9am
The Mike Carney Toyota Townsville BBQ Battle is the ultimate Low n’ Slow competition in North Queensland. Be a spectator of 32 teams while they compete across 5 different protein categories to see who will be the champion. In addition to the Low n’ Slow there will be rides & slides, a classic car display, Pop Up Food Trucks featuring 5 specialist Low n’ Slow vendors, a trade show, a licensed bar run by Ottos and the Stage will have cooking demonstrations by Celebrity Chef, Matt Golinski and others! We wrap up the event on Saturday night with Fireworks on The Strand.
It all started with a couple of mates who love food, BBQ and bringing the community together. In it’s second year, it is like an olympic event in the world of Low n’ Slow cooking. The competitors go head to head for prize money, bragging rights and points on the Australasian BBQ Alliance (ABA) ladder.
On Saturday 20th June 2020 the ABA Sanctioned Townsville BBQ Battle returns to Strand Park. Building on the success of the inaugural event in 2019, this year’s competition will be bigger and better. We will see teams from Townsville and across the country compete in the world of Low and Slow barbecue. Teams will use only the power of wood, fire and smoke to create mouth watering, tender, succulent sensations.
